2002 K1200RS ABS questions. I just purchased an 02 K1200RS that appears to have been rebuilt. The front ABS sensor has better than 5mm of gap to the sensor ring -- this can't possibly work, nad the manual shows it should be closer to 1mm. I have checked the part number for the sensor, and it appears correct -- it shows 2 333 484.. Carefully check the the bell housing bottom seam for any sign of oil. Check the inside of the trany crash pan for any indication of oily dirt-sand. Plan on replacing the low beam with a HID light. The clutch lever should engage, disengage the clutch mid travel, or closer to the handle bars.

I can't remember specifically on the 2003 1200RS but most with that era servo braking system have a fail-safe in the ABS module that monitors the tail light circuit, if it sees a burnt out tail light it will then bring the brake light bulb on at about 1/2 power to replace the tail light then illuminate the dash GENERAL warning light to tell the.. Repeat for cyls 1 and 3, then 1 and 4. Check balance between 2-3 and 2-4. It may not be possible to bring vacuum in all cylinders to match #1 on the first pass. In that case, lightly tweak #1 in the direction of whatever other cylinder is not synched, and repeat the 1-2, 1-3, 1-4 process and check 2-3 and 2-4.
